Avene Cleanance Cleansing Water - Review

Micellar cleansing waters are an essential part of my skincare routine so when I was offered the chance to try the Avene Cleanance cleansing water I was thrilled.

I like to use this cleansing water in the evening to take off the bulk of my make-up before going on to do a proper cleanse. I also sometimes use this for a quick refresh in the mornings to wake up my skin. It’s super simple to use, all you need to do is pour out a little onto a cotton pad and wipe over your face and viola – make-up is removed! It even removes stubborn eye make-up which is a no easy task!

What do Avene say about the product?
Specially formulated for the blemish-prone skin, the Cleanance Cleansing Water gently cleanses and removes all traces of make-up from the face and eyes. Contains sebum-regulating and purifying agents and leaves a matte finish onto the skin. No-rinse formula. Paraben and alcohol free.

Before using this product I was suffering from very stubborn breakouts around my chin, but this has been an absolute gem at clearing that up and I have not had one little spot since using this. Even better, it smells amazing! It’s super fresh and while I can imagine a heavily scented product can be a little off-putting for some, I absolutely love it.

Of course the question on everyone’s lips will be: How does it compare to the likes of Bioderma?
I’m pleased to say this is just as good at removing make-up and cleaning the skin, but it also has the added benefits of targeting blemishes so depending on your skin type, this may be the one for you. It’s also a lot easier to get your hands on as it is available to buy from Boots and as we all know its near enough impossible to purchase Bioderma without shopping online.

You can purchase the Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Cleansing Water from Boots for £16
Or if you are an online shopper, it is currently 10% off at Escentual so you can buy these little 50ml bottles for just £2.70 if you just want to try it before investing in a full sized bottle, or if you are travelling these little bottles are perfect. The full size will be £14.40 for 400ml

What do you think of Cleansing waters? Have you tried this offering from Avene?

  1. I have tried one, I can't remember the name right now, but it was really different to the usual cleansers. I would definitely try more.
