August Empties , Products I've Used Up!

This month I decided to follow the 'trend' of collecting up the empty product packaging of beauty, skincare and hair care items I had used up through out the month of August. I enjoyed doing this, it's definitely motivation to use up things that may have been overlooked or sitting around for a bit too long! I collected mine up in the little basket above, belonging to my daughter- to keep everything together. Read on to see what I used and a short opinion on each.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel 100g, £3.50.
I used to love this, and don't get me wrong I still really like it I just felt this time it was a little overpowering for me. Who knows why! At £3.50 it's more than I would normally spend on a shower gel of this size but is a nice treat. I believe Snow Fairy is available again at the end of October, I won't be repurchasing this year as I do still have another stored away, but in the future I would.

Herbal Essences Ignite my Colour Intensive Mask 200ml, £2.50.
This claims to 'revive your colour vibrancy' , I have blonde highlights and while I can't say I noticed it on my colour it worked really well as a weekly mask to leave my hair feeling really soft and of course smelling gorgeous!

Vineyard Peach Shower Gel, The Body Shop. 250ml, £4.00.
Smells so so nice! I feel like I've neglected the Body Shop recently but after using this I will definitely be going in soon to try some other items, especially with the great offers I keep hearing about.

 Mostly sample sizes here so I won't go into prices.

Figs & Rouge 100% Natural Organic Balm, Peppermint & Tea Tree. On the packaging it says it is a lip, face and body balm. I chose to use it as a lip balm and was really enjoying using it, even with the packaging which can be hard to open. Forgot about it at the bottom of my bag and when I found it had gone a bit weird. I wouldn't buy it again, I received this one in a Glossybox.

I wasn't a fan of the Palmers Facial Scrub, the scrub part was good- the smell not so much for me. The Dove conditioner was ok, but I wouldn't rush to buy it. Aquafresh- again it was fine!

If you read my review on the L'Oreal Micellar Solution here you will know I really like this product. Priced at £4.99. I already have another one of these on the go.

Tea Tree Blackhead Exfoliating Wash, from the Body Shop. I had this for ages, it lasted a long time and I can't currently find it on the website but I really liked this and think it was priced about £6.50.

17 Instant Body Bronzer. This was a sample size the full size is £4.99 from Boots. I wasn't a big fan of this, but then again I don't tan alot so I don't really know much on the subject.

Normandie Amazing Day Cream, I think I picked this up pretty cheap in Tesco. The packaging appealed to me but unfortunately it didn't really do anything for my skin and the smell is really manly and overpowering for me to use on my face.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck 30ml, £19.50. The packaging is so damn cute, I'm tempted not to put it in the bin lol. Smelled gorgeous and would definitely purchase again.

Helen Rubinstein Lash Queen Feline Black Mascara. I received this as a gift so I'm unsure how much this costs nor do I know much on the brand. The packaging is fab but the product didn't do much for me, I found it clumpy and it often smudged under my eyes.

Physician's Formula Fake Out Organic Wear Mascara, I bought this as part of my iherb haul and I enjoyed using it but found it dried up in the tube a bit too quick.

What I wore on my face today..

My plan for this post was to have a nice photo showing how these products look like on, but unfortunately the camera has not been my friend along with a lack of sleep, but read on to see what I have been using lately for my day to day look and what I think of the products used!

Aside from mostuiriser the first product I used was my GOSH velvet touch cream primer. This is the second bottle of this primer, I love it. Colourless on the skin but with, what else a velvety feel on the skin without drying it out, a must for me as I have some dry patches on my face. You can buy it from Superdrug here for £13.99, not the cheapest but I would definitely buy again.

Next up  I put on my Urban Decay primer potion, cult product in the beauty world so I won't ramble on, I really like and it does what it's supposed to! I have the old style packaging it's not in a tube instead- easier to get more of the product out I would think. If you head over to Debenhams they have 10% off beauty making the travel size only £7.20.

I'm not big on eyeshadow but used my Mac Minerlize Eyshadow trio in 'Together-ness' lightly over my eyelids, my favourite shade being the pretty lilac although this trio is now discontinued.

I went on to finish my eyes, I do my mascara before my foundation- is that weird? lol.  I chose to use the Collection, No Clumps Mascara (Available from 3rd July). The name really appealed to me when I had first saw it, clumping mascara is a big no no for me and often causes me to be rushing out of the door in the morning, I really detest that look. I must admit the first 2 times I tried this, I must have been having a bad lash day as I wasn't a fan.. I'm so glad I tried it for the third day as every day since it has lived up to it's name and been a PERFECT mascara for every day use. I don't need to spend lots of time having to try and keep combing through my lashes, this mascara does it first time.

It's really hard to believe it is only £2.99, bargain price! This isn't the only Collection mascara I own and won't be the last, I think they do them really well!  The last eye product I used is my Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal eyeliner in nude, it's ok but I little too peachy toned for me.

Using my new Real Techniques Expert face brush (love!) I put my WITCH BB cream on. I've previously reviewed this product here if you would like to find out more! A quick dot of my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, again another affordable product that does what it claims and is hugely loved in the beauty community.

Final product for me before I rush out the door is the Colour pro intense colour lip lacquer in the shade 'Prom Queen' which is a very wearable shade,I think it would suit most people.

Collection say 'Delivers an intense burst of colour, with a high shine finish' . I fully agree with that statement, the only wee flaw with this lip gloss for me is it is very sticky so no good on a windy day with hair down but for a night out these would be fab! Priced at £4.19. I went shopping.. a small collective haul

Now I'm one of them people who go shopping, quite often and then have the bad habit of leaving my purchases sitting around my bedroom until a dull day today when I take them out and remember what wee gems I've snapped up. So here we go, a small collective haul from about two weeks ago of a few beauty products I had been lusting over, enjoy!

Le Volume de Chanel

Now, I'm sure near enough every girl I know is on a quest to find the perfect mascara, and will spend hundreds of pounds in her lifetime trying to find the one that's right for her. Nothing is ever quite good enough, that perfect combination of volume and length and, let's face it, she always strives for better. Enter Le Volume de Chanel, the one mascara that has come the closest. 

I have relatively stubby lashes, and all I've ever wanted is a mascara that takes them to the length only false lashes can. I'd love to try lash extensions but in reality they're far to expensive to keep up with. I received this sample in the post a few days ago and I am sold. In a few coats it took my lashes to lengths I have only obtained before with a combination of about four mascaras that was quite frankly a hassle and a complete waste of time. It stayed in place the whole day but came off super easily with my usual make-up remover. Although the price for a full size bottle at £24 is not for those on a budget, I might actually consider investing. Has anyone else fallen in love?
