Summer Beauty Tips

A few months ago some of the girls from this blog wrote up a list of Summer 2013 Tips. I thought, there's no better time than the present. So here they are.

This works for all eye colours but especially blue - switch black eyeliner on the lid for a medium brown for a brighter, more open eyed look. Natural but effective - Kerri Kellett

The best natural way to remove fake tan is to squeeze fresh lemon juice on to a warm damp flannel, wipe your body with the flannel, let it sink in for 15 mins, then wash it off with warm clean water. It will get rid of any stubborn tan and make your skin look and feel beautiful - Kate Flinders Hurn

Siân Lacey For extra sun protection for your face, use a foundation with SPF. We usually forget our face when we put make up on and go outside in the sun. You can also use a moisturiser with SPF too for extra protection!

Becky Powley Broken/wobbly lipstick - don't despair, get some cheap make up pots from ebay, wrap the pot in a hot towel and decant the lipstick into the pot. It should melt and smooth out, giving you your fav lipstick back! Simply apply with a lipstick brush from now on!

Ingrid Baumgart If you suffer from bloating (as I do) make sure you always drink a large glass of water as soon as you wake up. Then have juice/tea or whatever you drink for breakfast. Try to keep drinking glasses of water throughout the day. Simple but it really is effective, it has helped my stomach stay flatter x

Here are some more I've learnt throughout the years;

Hot weather? Sweaty head making you need to wash your hair more frequently? - Then rinse your hair with cold water, this will close the pores and seal the protein in your hair leaving it feeling cleaner for longer, even on those hot days.

The hot weather can really dry your skin out so remember to invest in a good quality moisturiser. I use Steamcream which is currently on a Summer offer for 2 pots for £18 but 1 pot is £12.95 which is an amazing price. But if you're pursestrings won't spread that far I love Neutrogena's Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser, which can be bought for less than a fiver £3.12 in Superdrug. It's cheap and is small enough to fit in your handbag.

Remember the Vitamin D in Sunshine is great for your skin but don't forget to protect it with plenty of suncream and use products with a UVA and UVB protection in them. Even in what feels like the least sunny sun, your skin can burn which removes all the hydration and goodness out of your cells.

Drinking fruity cocktails in this weather may feel like the life but really it can make you dehydrated and make yourself feel and look a little dull. When you can try and get cocktails with real fruit juices in as opposed to mixers. The anti-oxidants will help you look and feel summer fresh. Always remember to drink responsibly and to drink plenty of water

Just have a great Summer, I hope you liked our tips!!
